On September 4th, Vigil & Thieves will introduce their new album [Defective] Book One onto the world. And to simply put it, this is a great album. I downloaded it last night and it has been in my ears for most of the night. The band featuring Sarah Storm, Steph Castor, and Andrew Flaherty are setting up to take their sounds on tour with one of the shows opening up for the Misfits in November in Texas! A big congratulations to them on the album release, the tour, and playing with the Misfits

I've known Steph Castor for awhile now. I met her when I was writing for the Indie Music Reviewer Magazine. She was in a band called Grenadina. I believe I've written about her band here on the Leftovers and on Wordkrapht.  Another great band for whom I still listen too. She is a poet, guitarist, journalist. It's great seeing all that she has accomplished.

"Midnight Masses had been a way for me to musically document my travels and experiences for the past few years. I've had the pleasure to share this with many of my closest and most talented friends. In a way this record is a eulogy of things I've lost (whether that may be relatives, lovers, faith, or my own mind) - a memorial of sorts. And the band is everyone I would want at my own funeral." - Autry Fulbright

"The Queensrÿche internal dynamic has certainly changed in terms of musicianship. It's more of a cohesive team and the chemistry we have now is making what we can do creatively limitless. For Queensrÿche, it was always about being able to write together as a band. We didn't have that for a long time but now that it's back, we feel extremely liberated," states founding guitarist Michael Wilton.  "We've already begun the writing process for the next album and have a few songs demoed that we feel really good about. We're taking the songs in the classic Queensrÿche direction but maybe a little more progressive and heavier at times. The thing is, you never know what you really have until it's complete. We can't wait for the final outcome. Writing with such a dynamic group of individuals has been nothing short of amazing."

Kip Winger, Reb Beach, John Roth, and Rod Morganstein, aka Winger are back in full force with their new album Better Days Comin' that was released earlier this week. Honestly speaking, this album is one of the best Winger albums I've heard. Everyone seems to have a newly found spark and have coming out firing on all cylinders!

Insomnium unleashes their sixth studio album today via Century Media. This melodic masterpiece delivers in all aspects of metal that we have grown to love about Insomnium while tightening their grip around a tighter and diverse execution of metal. I'll be honest, I've never heard much from these guys in the past but after listening to this album I have a new found respect for them and their music.

In my opinion, Filter's latest album, The Sun Comes Out Tonight, is a great album that needs more attention than it is getting. It's heavy, it's soft, it is the best of every world. That is what I've always liked about Filter. They are a great diverse band that can pull off just about anything they want. I was able to ask founding member Richard Patrick a few questions. Here is what he had to say...
